I first met Zelda Kaplan at an Whitney Museum Biennial opening night party for museum trustees and the A-list New York art scene crowd. She was decked out from head to toe in an African print I cannot remember. But I will never forget her. Always at the right parties, she turned up at Sands Light, a Beaux-Arts gem at the tip of Sands Point, Long Island. Zelda Kaplan photographed by me at a Labor Day party in 2007. She passed away yesterday while sitting in the front row of a New York fashion show.
