The 1st Annual Nassau County Humane Rights for Animals Lobby Day was held in Woodmere, Long Island, New York, on April 28, 2011.
Patrick Kwan, New York State Director, Field Services, The Humane Society of The United States, gave a multi media presentation.
He asked the audience to support several bills. One in particular – A.4407 (Lentol)/S.3237 (LaValle) – Close Animal Fighting Loopholes, is designed to prevent animal cruelty and protect the public against animal offenders that are often arrested for felonies, battery related violence, and illegal narcotics.
After the presentation five of us drove to Rockville Center and met with Senator Dean Skelos where Mr. Kwan presented this information again. I was there as photographer and local constituent and I am very pleased to report S.3237 passed on June 3, 2011.
