Day trip

I packed up the car with good food, including the last of the most delicious Long Island peaches I have ever tasted, and hit the road yesterday. In part I thought I would  see what had become of my childhood sleep away camp – Camp Ella Fohs, in New Milford CT. It was totally gorgeous and sunny and  a great day for adventure. After New Milford it was on to Kent, CT then Rhinebeck NY.

I was sad to learn the pond has been hidden behind this fence for years and it seems no trace whatsoever is left of the camp. It may have been closed by the 1980′s – it moved to New Milford in the 1920′s. I managed to peek through a hole in the fence.

Then it was on to Kent CT,  then Rhinebeck NY..then back to Long Island over the Whitsetone Bridge, where I quickly snapped the traffic (horizontal lines) and a moon one day after its fullness (the vertical line).

Dylan Turns 7

The first time I met Dylan he was only 7 days old. Now he is 7 years ! He reads – he was reading his own birthday cards this year,  he flies like a bird, and swims like a fish!  And this why I love my job – I get to witness all the good things. As always – had the most amazing birthday cake. Happy Birthday Dylan! And many happy returns! xo
