Kelly in Pink

Bat Mitzvah girl – Kelly – read from the Torah and had a fun, fun, fun dinner dance party last night. Her mom had a vision. She totally transformed the ballroom at Temple Beth Torah, on Bagatelle Road, into a pink & white dinner club – complete with half circle banquettes and feasting tables around the room. It was amazing and gorgeous and so much fun. On the other hand, those that know her, are aware that Kelly has a serious side. The other thing Kelly and her family wanted the party to be about, was doing good for others. Kelly is a very special role model. Instead of gifts for herself, Kelly asked all of her family & friends to donate to charity. Kelly and her mom pose in front of the Kelly Bag. The tag reads: “Donations from Kellys Bag will go to the Alzheimers Association and Windham Adaptive Ski Program.” Congratulations Kelly! I am sure you raised an impressive sum.

Arizona Moonrise

I am back from Arizona: The land of the Sun. And during the week I was there, the land of the Moon! I kept thinking, Earth unplugged – in the same way I experience NYC as human energy unplugged. I took a quick detour to Jerome from Sedona. Jerome, Arizona is also know as The Vertical City. It is a former copper mining town and sits at an elevation of 5,200 feet. It took many hairpin turns to get up there. These days Jerome is home to a population of 450 including artists, innkeepers and others dedicated to tourism.
